YOUTH UPCYCLING 2: OPEN CHOICE / JULY 28-AUG 1 2-5pm

Young artists explore fashion and textiles with an emphasis on sustainability and developing their own style during this 1 week camp. Students learn technical skills that allow them to take their designs from concept to reality. Lessons/projects change each session, so students may enroll in this course multiple times.
Each day students will engage in activities that will push their ideas of design, style, and identity by exploring contemporary artists and designers, and finding inspiration within their world. Technical skills will be introduced simultaneously. Students experience lessons on machine sewing, pattern making, reconstruction, and fabric manipulation to execute their designs.
Open to ages 13-18. The camp will be held at 1842 E Main St, Ventura. Students may take Upcycled 2 as a follow up to Upcycled 1 (recommended), or on its own. Upcycled 2 is an open-ended class style, whereas Upcycled 1 follows a more straightforward approach. In Upcycled 2, each student will develop their own project individually alongside their peers, with guidance from the instructor and plenty of examples. Please contact us if you have any questions.
*****Students must come to the first class with one or more garments to upcycle, meaning it may get cut up or completely changed. The more you bring in, the better! Garments may be sourced from your closet, friends and family, or the thrift store. Please make sure all garments have been washed and dried before bringing them in. Tiger Owl studios has a variety of fabric available to work with, but you may also bring in fabric of your choice.******

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us 7 days before the camps starts and we can offer you a refund or credit. Staff and materials are prepared for scheduled classes based on their capacity. If cancelling or rescheduling within the 7 day period, no refund or credit can be given, however if we are able to fill your spot we can give you credit for the amount of the camp.
