Summer Staeb is a Southern California native with roots in photography and hospitality and landed in Ventura in 2021. She and her partner Jake opened Midtown Wines at 981 E Main St in October of last year and it really is the sweetest little natural wine shop. They make trips to Europe as often as they can to source wines, visit small natural winemakers and friends and we’re so happy they do!

We had the chance to visit Summer at the shop and chat about life, photography and being a business owner. Along with the shop, which is giving French countryside feels, they’ve created a warm and intimate gathering space for small private events. Their public events are not gone though! (Remember when they would pop up for fun wine club gatherings?) They’ve got one coming up on Feb 4 for the release of Emocean issue 04! Their shop is so beautiful and airy and the perfect small biz addition to Ventura. Go pay them a visit and they’ll help you find the best Rosé for your mellow beach day or the perfect Gamay for your upcoming dinner party.
